Clearing your browser cookies and cache

This guide is for Google Chrome. The logo for Google Chrome is shown below. It should be located on your computer desktop or on the task bar along the bottom. If you do not have Google Chrome installed on your computer, click here for instructions on how to download and install it.

Open Google Chrome by double clicking on its icon. You should see a screen like this:

From here, click the three grey dots in the top right corner of the screen. They are stacked on top of each other and are positioned to the right of the search bar. The button looks like this:

When you click this button, a small menu will appear. Towards the bottom of this menu are the words “More Tools”. See the image below for what you should be seeing.

When you hover your moues over the words “More Tools”, another menu will appear to the left. It looks like this:

About halfway down this menu are the words “Clear Browsing Data…”. Carefully move your mouse from “More Tools” left and then down towards “Clear Browsing Data…” and click it. You will be taken to another page with a box in the middle of the screen, like this:

You will see a dropdown box and three checkboxes. Make sure the “Time range” dropdown box is set to “All time”. Also make sure you have checked the “Cookies and other site data” box and the “Cached images and files” box. You do not have to check the “Browsing history” box if you do not want to clear your browsing history. This is what you should see:

Once you have made sure your screen looks like the above, click Clear data. This will log you out of most of your websites and clear your browser’s cookies and cache.

The window will close, and you are done!
