Pre-Call Testing – Audio or Visual Issues

Before your appointment we ask you to perform a ‘Pre-Call’ test. This tests that your equipment is capable of connecting to our doctors and will hopefully eliminate any potential lost time at the time of your appointment.

  1. Ensure you are using the Chrome web browser (or Safari if you use a Mac)
  2. Go to our website: https://www.psychiatry-uk.com
  3. Click the ‘Pre-Call Test’ button at the top of the home page
  4. This takes you to the pre-call test page
  5. Click ‘Run Test’

Problem with your microphone or speakers??

Can you or did you see a box that asked you to allow access to your microphone? Here is a screenshot of the box: https://snag.gy/fO5swm.jpg/. Try reloading the page again and see if the box appears. You can also check your internal microphone works here: https://www.onlinemictest.com/.

If these do not help fix the issue, please try the following. Click the three dots in the top right hand corner of the Chrome browser, then click ‘Settings’. From here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click ‘Advanced’. Now find the button that says ‘Content Settings’ in the ‘Privacy and security’ section. In here, you should see an option for your microphone. Click it to open up the microphone permissions. In there, please check if anything related to Psychiatry-UK is on your ‘Block’ list. If it is, simply remove it by clicking the trash can and try running our test again.

Problem with your WebCam?

Problem with your Connection Speed?

If you are trying to connect to the internet with a connection speed lower than 1Mbps then chances are you will not be able to use your webcam. Try testing your speed here
