Guidance and Instructions
As of 24th January 2022, we will stop using Ryver and start using Microsoft Teams.
We will need to continue using Ryver in the background until then, so that we can still interact with other departments/colleagues across the organisation. For communication within your own team, please use MS Teams exclusively.
Now is the time to start migrating any content on Ryver that you need to save before the platform is retired in February 2022. Please speak to Nigel Courtney if you need help with this.
We will eventually start using the Meet feature in Teams for our internal meetings which will be displayed on your calendars in both Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
How to access and use Microsoft Teams
- Open your browser and type “https://teams.microsoft.com” in the address bar.
- When prompted, sign in using your @psychiatry-uk.com email address and password.
- This should then bring you to your Microsoft Teams homepage.
In Summary:
- Use Teams for ALL communications within your team, NOT Ryver.
- Use Teams Calendar (instead of Google Calendar).
- No uploading or sending files on Teams – instead, please share links to the existing Google Drive.
- Please do not use the apps yet – we will advise when these are ready.
- Please do not use SharePoint yet – we will advise when this is ready.
- We will continue using Ring Central for telephony services, please do not use Call feature within Microsoft Teams to make external calls.
- Teams is a business communication tool, not a social tool. Be cautious and mindful about language and the use of memes and GIFS.
- For 1-2-1 or small group conversations, please use the Chat feature.
